CEO Connect Guidelines + Suggestions (updated July 15, 2024)

If you have ANY questions about the content below, please ask early and often. Please keep asking, if need be, until you understand. Lena doesn't mind repeating or saying things in a different way, so please ask. ClarityFlow takes some getting used to. We're not leaving them right away because they're a startup, we believe in startups and we don't want to abandon them just because everything isn't "perfect". Right now, it's the best way to have an accessible, searchable archive of CEO Connects.   


THE PLATFORM
  • If you ever have ANY technical problems related to ClarityFlow, please close out of all ClarityFlow windows, close down/restart your browser and/or restart your computer before sending an email with either a screenshot or Loom outlining the problem to  hello@CEORising.co . The screenshot or Loom helps us to get support from ClarityFlow. We regret that we cannot provide support for technical problems presented without either a screenshot or Loom
  • Here are some links to help you quickly learn more about this platform including understanding the conversation>messages>threads relationship, renaming messages about specific topics to help you find key conversations in the future and performing searches
  • The system will automatically stop recording audio and video at 5 minutes. If you make an error and have to re-record, the system will also delete all text you have typed (if any) the moment you choose to re-record your CEO Connect. 
  • Even though this page is used by everyone, no one will be able to see what you submit but you and me.
  • You will receive an email notification when Lena replies and Lena will receive one when you reply.
  • To make sure you get your email notifications, please whitelist: notifications@clarityflow.com 

THE RULES
  • You have ONE CEO Connect per calendar week - that's why there's a deadline of Wednesdays at 2pm, ET, to submit your CEO Connect. You can submit your CEO Connect starting Monday of each calendar week. If you're subscribed to the CEO Rising CORE calendar, you'll receive a reminder alert on Wednesdays at noon, ET. This gives you two hours to submit your CEO Connect, just in case you're busy or have forgotten.
  • The SLA (Service Level Agreement) is: Lena will respond to your CEO Connect within a calendar week of your submission. Please see the note below about how you can submit a new CEO Connect, even if you and Lena are still having a conversation on your previous CEO Connect or even if you haven't gotten a reply from Lena yet.  
  • Please do not use CEO Connects to submit questions about time-sensitive topics.
  • Please do not send a time-sensitive topic anyway, and then say, "If you can't get to this, I understand." Doing so, doesn't make anyone feel good in the end, and it's better if you learn to manage your time and shift away from being in "last minute" mode in your business. 
  • If you're sending a link to a document in either Canva, Google Drive or Dropbox, please make sure Lena has the appropriate access to view the document. Having to request access and then wait for access delays responses and throws off the CEO Connect reply schedule.
  • Please do not update your CEO Connect message/thread with "as it happens", "stream of consciousness" updates once submitted, unless the update is seriously, materially relevant and you feel it would impact Lena's response. If you must update, please be judicious and limit your updates. 
  • When the next week comes around, even if you and Lena are still communicating on your CEO Connect from the week prior, please send your new CEO Connect for the current week anyway, by creating a new message. The only way to create a new message is to close out of any and all open ClarityFlow windows, go to this URL and click the button that says "Create a Message". You might want to bookmark that URL so it's easy to access. You'll know you've done it right because you'll see this same set of instructions and there will be no prior conversations on the page. If you ever go through this process and find you cannot create a new message, please screenshot it (ideally make a Loom) and send it to Lena via email so we can let ClarityFlow tech support know. 
  • There's only one topic per CEO Connect. You can ask multiple questions about the one topic, especially if you're a bit lost and don't know what to ask. You CANNOT ask about more than one topic in one CEO Connect. That's a bit nuanced, so for complete clarification purposes, here's an example of what works and what doesn't:

Possible CEO Connect: This is what's been going on in my business since we last communicated. I'm pleased/not pleased with the direction. I'm in Drive (ish). I'm working on the framework section of Order of Operations and I'm pretty OK about how that's shaping up. I would like your support this week on ways to keep my goals in focus. Here's what I've tried that really doesn't work... Specifically, I'm seeking resources or ideas I can try to make sure when I add an internal deadline related to my goals to my calendar I don't keep blowing it off? Thank you!

Unacceptable CEO Connect: Tell me how to grow my business. Please share whatever you can and as much as you can about what I can do to grow. 

  • AUDIO/VIDEO: You have 5 minutes to record your audio or video CEO Connect. The system will automatically stop recording audio and video at 5 minutes. If you make an error and have to re-record, the system will also delete all text you have typed (if any) the moment you choose to re-record your CEO Connect.
  • TEXT: If you're using text to send your CEO Connect, the best thing to do is to type your text in Notepad or Notes and then put it in Words to Time to make sure the time to read is less than 5 minutes. 
  • If you don't know what to ask about for your CEO Connect, here are some suggestions: 
    • First determine if you have ONE topic about which you have questions OR if you want to provide a business update.
    • Be sure to mention if your message is a business update or questions about ONE topic, so I'm clear.
    • When asking questions, please be sure to ask a specific, clear questions.
    • Please understand not everyone's brain works the same way and Lena might need to reply back with questions before she can answer.  If she needs back story or have additional questions, she will ask.
